
Susan Alcorn Mackay

Susan served as the founding director of the Glen Crombie Centre at Cambrian College, a centre supporting the needs of students with Disabilities. Known for being a champion of inclusion and access, she was awarded a prestigious provincial award from the Ontario College Administrative Staff Association (OCASA), the 2005 OCASA Doug Light Award for Administrative Excellence. Since retiring Susan has continued to work with students on the Learning Disabilities Specialist course at Cambrian. She continues to teach for Nipissing University in the Specialist in Special Education program.
Susan was a long-standing member of the LDA Sudbury board before joining the LDAO board. She served on a Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) in Sudbury. She is acknowledged for her LDA committee involvement including her work with LDA Niagara to develop the TIPS (Transition Information and Preparation Support) program. Susan is standing for her second term.
