LD Awareness Month 2026
Unique Minds. Remarkable Potential.
October is Learning Disabilities Awareness Month, a time to increase understanding, challenge stigma, recognize strengths, and remove barriers for people with learning disabilities and ADHD.
This year, LDAO’s campaign is built around Unique Minds. Remarkable Potential. Throughout October, we’re inviting schools, educators, workplaces, municipalities, community partners, families, and individuals across Ontario to help raise awareness and share the message that learning differently is not learning less.
The LD Awareness Month campaign hub includes:
- Campaign graphics and key messages to help raise awareness and challenge misconceptions.
- Facts and resources about learning disabilities and ADHD.
- Ideas for schools, workplaces, families, and communities to participate throughout October.
- LD Awareness Day on October 15, a focused opportunity to increase understanding and recognize strengths.
- The Great Read-Along on October 22, bringing people across Canada together toward a shared goal of 6,000,000 minutes of reading.
