Elena is Chief Human Resources Officer at HOOPP, based in Toronto, with over 25 years of experience in human resources. Since joining HOOPP in 2016, she has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s talent management strategy, launching award-winning learning and development programs, advancing employee relations initiatives, and designing programs to enhance the employee experience. A progressive and authentic leader, Elena is passionate about building inclusive workplaces, exemplified by her leadership in developing HOOPP’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion program. Elena’s connection to the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario is both personal and professional—she is the parent of a child with learning disabilities and is deeply committed to fostering equitable opportunities and inclusion in the workplace. She holds a BA in English from the University of Toronto, an Adult Learning and Development Certificate from OISE, and is a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP).
