
Dr. Steven Reid

Dr. Steven Reid has over 30 years of leadership experience in public education, having served as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and associate director of education. He has held senior positions with the Ministry of Education and EQAO, contributing to system-wide improvements in assessment, policy, and student support.
A researcher and lecturer at the University of Toronto’s OISE, Steven’s work focuses on math anxiety, teacher development, knowledge mobilization, and systemic barriers in education. His research, including studies on systemic inequities in hiring and promotion in education, has been published in peer-reviewed journals. He continues to present at academic and professional conferences, including on topics such as socially shared metacognition in de-streamed math classrooms.
As President & CEO of LDAO, Steven is focused on advancing the organization’s work across its three pillars: Advocacy, Knowledge Mobilization, and Community Support & Outreach. He was recognized with the 2022 Yes I Can President’s Award for his commitment to inclusive education.
