A Literature Review Commissioned by the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario (LDAO)

Diagnosed through Bias: Unpacking the Intersection of Race, Disability, and Inclusion in Special Education in Ontario examines how race, disability, and systemic bias intersect in Ontario’s education system.

Co-authored by Dr. Ardavan Eizadirad and Dr. Steve Sider, the review analyzes how existing policies and structures continue to shape identification and support for racialized and neurodivergent students. It highlights the need for more consistent, data-informed, and identity-aware approaches to strengthen equity and belonging within Ontario’s evolving education landscape.
