LDAO Scholarships & Bursaries

LDAO offers two awards – a bursary and a scholarship :

Roy Cooper Memorial Scholarship: LDAO offers an annual  $1,000 scholarship award in memory of Roy V. Cooper, whose volunteerism within his own chapter community and the LDAO is recognized. The scholarship recognizes an Ontario high school student who has a documented Learning Disability and/or ADHD who will be attending a university or college in the upcoming school year. The student must be majoring in an engineering and/or physical sciences discipline.  Applications are to be received by local LDA chapters who will recommend one candidate from their area each year so be placed in the provincial competition.

To apply for the Roy Cooper Scholarship, please contact any of the LDAO’s local chapters. Deadline for submission for the 2012 competition is June 18, 2012 to your chapters. LDAO will consider recommendations received from chapters after July 3, 2012.

 

Gloria Landis Memorial Bursary : The Gloria Landis Memorial Bursary was established in memory of Gloria Landis for her significant contributions to LDAO and her community on behalf of individuals with learning disabilities.

One bursary will be awarded annually in the amount of $1,000 to a mature individual with learning disabilities, enrolled in a post secondary program or accredited vocational institute, who has been absent from full-time education for a period of three years.

We regret that the The GLORIA LANDIS MEMORIAL BURSARY will NOT BE AVAILABLE in 2012, due to funding constraints.
