Here’s what’s happening this October — join us in celebrating, sharing, and amplifying LD Awareness Month.
October 1 – Official Launch
LD Awareness Month begins across Ontario. Share campaign graphics, facts, stories, and resources.
October 5 – World Teachers’ Day
Recognize an educator who has helped create an inclusive learning environment for students with LDs and ADHD.
October 10 – World Mental Health Day
Highlight the connection between learning, belonging, and mental health.
October 13 – New Talk LD Plus Podcast
Listen to a new two-episode conversation with Michael Regis exploring learning disabilities, belonging, dignity, identity, and the experiences that can shape how students see themselves as learners.
October 15 – LD Awareness Day
Join the province-wide awareness push by sharing graphics, facts, local stories, and community recognition.
Educators and families can also join Alex-Andrée Madore and Michèle Minor-Corriveau for a free French-language TA@l’école webinar from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. ET.
October 19–23 – Community Stories & Local Engagement
Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing stories and highlighting LD Awareness Month activities from schools, communities, municipalities, and local LDA chapters across Ontario. Check back here and with your local LDA chapter for updates, activities, and ways to take part.
October 22 – The Great Read-Along & LD@school Live Webinar
Join schools, families, workplaces, chapters, and communities across Canada for The Great Read-Along and help contribute toward a national goal of 6,000,000 minutes of shared reading.
