Are you passionate about equity in education, disability advocacy, and supporting individuals with learning disabilities (LDs) and co-occurring conditions such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)? The Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario (LDAO) is seeking dynamic, committed individuals to join our Board of Directors.
About LDAO
The Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario (LDAO) is a registered charity and provincial leader in advocacy, research, education, and services for individuals with LDs and co-occurring conditions like ADHD. For over six decades, LDAO has driven systemic change across the lifespan—from early education to workplace inclusion—helping individuals with LDs reach their full potential. Grounded in equity, evidence, and lived experience, LDAO delivers impact in both English and French through initiatives like TA@l’école and LD@school:
- LD@school / TA@l’école – Ministry-funded educator platforms offering classroom-ready strategies, research-informed tools, and on-demand webinars
- LD@home – A parent- and caregiver-facing platform with practical tools, webinars, and navigation supports
- LD@work – A new 2025 initiative supporting adults with LDs and ADHD through self-advocacy tools, inclusive employment resources, and accessibility guidance for employers
- Province-wide campaigns – Public awareness efforts like Don’t Dis My Abilities, which challenge stigma and celebrate the strengths of individuals with LDs
LDAO also engages in provincial advocacy, contributes to public policy, and supports educator professional learning through signature events like the Educators’ Institute and the Colloque des professionnels de l’enseignement. Our work reflects a commitment to inclusive systems and a future where all individuals with LDs can thrive.
