Emily will demonstrate and discuss ways to support young learners as they begin to use letters to blend and segment for reading and spelling. She will model how this leap from oral to print can be explicitly taught, guided, and scaffolded to support every learner in ways that are playful and fun. She will provide guidance for planning, and will demonstrate a complete lesson. Finally, Emily will share resources for use with students, as well as providing insights and suggestions for planning a scope and sequence of concepts for instruction.
