LDs and ADHD 101 is a self-paced, 7 to 10 hour certificate course developed by the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario.
Designed for educators, parents, and professionals, it explores how learning disabilities and ADHD affect learning, behaviour, and well-being, and provides practical strategies to support student success at school and beyond.
Through videos, real-world examples, and downloadable tools, participants gain a deeper understanding of identification, assessment, IEPs, self-advocacy, and assistive technology, grounded in current research and lived experience.
This course can be taken as a standalone professional learning experience (with a Certificate of Completion) or as Part 1 of LDAO’s three-part series leading to the LDAO Professional Learning Certificate: Learning Disabilities and ADHD.
Time Commitment:
Approximately 7 to 10 hours of core content. Participants have four months of access from the date of enrollment. Extensions may be granted upon request.
Part 2 – LDs and ADHD: Supporting Literacy and Math in School and Work
Coming Winter / Spring 2026
Deepen your understanding of how LDs and ADHD affect literacy and numeracy in both educational and workplace contexts. Explore inclusive instruction, cognitive science, and assistive technology through interactive content and curated resources.
This course can be taken as a standalone professional learning experience (with a Certificate of Completion) or as Part 2 of LDAO’s three-part series leading to the LDAO Professional Learning Certificate: Learning Disabilities and ADHD.
Part 3 – LDs and ADHD: Fostering Independence and Advocacy
Coming Spring / Summer 2026
Apply your learning through project-based activities and real-world examples that promote independence and advocacy for individuals with LDs and ADHD. This course revisits key topics such as self-advocacy, executive functioning, and inclusive supports that empower learners across school and community contexts.
It can be taken as a standalone professional learning experience (with a Certificate of Completion) or as Part 3 of LDAO’s three-part series leading to the LDAO Professional Learning Certificate: Learning Disabilities and ADHD.
