Join the Learning Disabilities Association of Kingston and Kimberly Agar for this FREE webinar: Moments in My Life That Taught Me Not to Give up! Register to join on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 7:00 pm – 8:15 pm ET. Kimberly will share her inspiring personal story and offer support for parents/caregivers, students with learning disabilities, and people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Interested professionals and community members are welcome to attend! ASL interpreter provided.

During this online presentation, Kimberly will share her life experiences as a Deaf person who has a learning disability, including overcoming obstacles and achieving goals throughout life. She will offer insight and tips to support students with disabilities on their life journey. Kimberly has designed the session to assist parents/caregivers raising children with disabilities, and to inspire students themselves.

What to expect of this webinar:

  • Kimberly’s personal story of navigating life as a Deaf person who has a learning disability following a traumatic accident at a young age; overcoming challenges, gaining confidence, working and giving back along the way
  • Discussion of the social, emotional, and physical obstacles of navigating life with disabilities throughout youth and adulthood, and Kimberly’s tips for success
  • Question & Answer period (via Chat and/or microphone) for comments and additional support; ASL interpreter provided and visual presentation on screen throughout

Presenter Bio:

Kimberly is a committed advocate for children with disabilities and their families, sharing her lived experiences as a Deaf person who has a learning disability, and using her ASL and business training to increase inclusion and accessibility. Kimberly works for ProHara to help reduce barriers for people with disabilities and is actively involved in the Deaf community. She has two adult hearing children and uses ASL/PSE. Kimberly is a volunteer for Silent Voice from home, supporting families who have communication barriers without ASL to communicate with others.
