Confirmed Fall 2019 students with disabilities, barriers to learning, or an IEP are invited to an event that will provide resources and information to assist with transitioning to their studies at Humber College and the University of Guelph-Humber.

The program includes interactive opportunities to explore Humber and Guelph-Humber’s services and learn about accessing academic accommodations. Students and one guest will have the opportunity to meet with returning students registered with Accessible Learning Services and learn about their experience here at Humber/Guelph-Humber.

SHIFT at Ryerson University

SHIFT (Students Heading Into Full Time) is Ryerson’s free transition program for students with disabilities who are heading into any post-secondary institution in Ontario. This program is specifically designed for first-year students with a documented disability (such as, a learning disability, ADHD, mental health impacts, physical, sensory, and/ or medical disability).

During SHIFT, incoming students learn about the accommodation process at Ryerson, take the first step in getting registered with Academic Accommodation Support (AAS), and plan for a strong transition to university.

In 2018, SHIFT will be offered as a one-day program, on the following days:

  • June 21, 9:00-4:00 pm
  • July 18, 9:00-4:00 pm
  • August 15, 9:00-4:00 pm
  • August 22, 9:00-4:00 pm
