Presenter: Ann Marie Crippin, Evoke Learning

This workshop will introduce parents to the role of Executive Functions (EF) and how deficits in EF impact students both in and out of the classroom. The workshop will highlight just what EF is, and how EF deficits play out both at home and in school. We will discuss how the impact of EF can be seen socially, emotionally, and academically. The workshop will highlight the connections between Executive Function, ADHD and Learning Disabilities.  Strategies to support Executive Function deficits will be introduced, such as the role of coaching, mentoring, and external scaffolding in assisting students with EF deficits. Workshop participants will have an increased understanding of the strategies they can implement at home to help struggling students with these challenges.
