Executive Functioning & Learning Disabilities
[ May 16, 2012; 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. ] This presentation provides participants with an understanding of the nature of executive functioning (higher order thinking skills including organization and problem solving) and difficulties children with learning disabilities may have in regulating themselves. Suggestions on how to support kids with executive function difficulties will be discussed.

The concept of neuroplasticity, the idea that the brain can reorganize itself and change, is what allows Cogmed to effectively change the way the brain functions to perform at its maximum capacity. There are many training programs for various skills such as reading, math, or time management. Cogmed acts on a different, more fundamental level.
