Transition Experiences of Students who have Learning Disabilities from Secondary School into Employment or Postsecondary Education.

My name is Stephanie Fullarton and I am a PhD candidate at the University of Ottawa.  I am conducting a study on the transition experiences of students who have learning disabilities as they transition from secondary school into postsecondary education or employment. I am recruiting adolescents currently in grade 11 or 12 who have been diagnosed with a learning disability and who are in the process of making the transition from secondary school to postsecondary education or employment.

Decision In Moore Case Ruling Will Be Appealed

Ottawa, April 4, 2008 - The Learning Disabilities Association of Canada (LDAC) is praising the Moore family’s decision for filing an appeal of the B.C. Supreme Court ruling that overturned the 2005 Human Rights Tribunal Ruling claiming the B.C.'s Education Ministry and the North Vancouver school board discriminated against students with LD when it failed to give their son, Jeffrey, proper support with his severe learning disabilities. The Moore family started the action a dozen years ago on behalf of their son, Jeffrey, who was struggling to read.

Putting a Canadian Face on Learning Disabilities: The PACFOLD Project

Putting a Canadian Face on Learning Disabilities (PACFOLD) was a groundbreaking applied research study initiated in 2004 by the Learning Disabilities Association of Canada (LDAC), with a $302,000 contribution from the Social Development Partnership Program - Disability Component. The goal of the research study was to find out what it means to be a child, youth or adult with learning disabilities in Canada.

Follow-up study on ADHD treatments leads to some confusion
