For students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or a Non-Verbal Learning Disability (NLD) and their families
This is an information day primarily for students with ASD’s and NLD’s who are planning on attending a post-secondary institution (university or college) in the fall.
There are limited spaces for students not yet ready to graduate from high school.
Topics that will be discussed include:
- social life at university/college
- accessing support systems
- strategies for academic success
- transition realities for the student and their family
- nurturing independence
The day will also include presentations from a student’s perspective as well as, a professor with expertise on the integration of High functioning autistic and Asperger Syndrome students in Canadian universities.
Cost: $20 for students/$40 for each family member
